Your responsibilities:

As a Business Development Manager, you will significantly contribute to the success of our UK subsidiary with your dedicated and precise work on bids and qualifications. This hybrid role also includes supporting projects, monitoring the scope and making changes where necessary. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with the local sales and projects team as well as the business development and systems design team based at our head office in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Support with bids and qualifications
  • Work jointly on system descriptions with the system design team at our HQ in Germany as well as system engineers based at our US subsidiary - in order to maintain UK standards
  • Ensure content matches the RfP and the customer requirements
  • Draft covering letters and prepare and attend bid presentations
  • Liaise with and support the group business development team by capturing market requirements, setting up meetings and preparing presentations
  • Manage qualifications by preparing all relevant documentation and monitoring online portals
  • Manage bids: engage with affiliated teams and manage external and internal deadlines
  • File and submit bids, create and maintain folder structure
  • Prepare tenders jointly with the proposal management team at our HQ in Germany, monitor estimates and input from the project team members and raise any exceptions and irregularities
  • Compliance lists: manage compliance and ensure input is adequate and provided in a timely manner
Support in projects
  • Attend project meetings, monitor scope and take charge of change management
  • Write concepts and descriptions for changes and monitor responses from the project team members
  • Collate the client's requirements in conjunction with the Commercial Manager and Managing Director
  • Management of proposals and change requests of our international projects in close cooperation with the Project Manager 

Your qualifications:

  • Degree in Business and/or Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a similar field (e.g. IT Consulting, System Architecture, Business Architecture) is appreciated (optionally intelligent transportation systems background)
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Keen interest in technical solutions and an understanding of technical system descriptions
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and obtain feedback about the project in a timely manner
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong customer-focused approach
  • Team player and ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office suite
  • Available for regular business travel to Ireland and within the UK as well as occasional trips to Germany or other countries
