Your responsibilities:

As a team manager within the back-office ticketing department, you will manage and lead a team of software engineers developing our demanding and future-oriented ticketing systems in public transport projects worldwide.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a high performing software engineering team that focuses on inclusivity, collaboration and growth
  • Represent your team to internal and external stakeholders and customers and put the customer at the centre of our processes
  • Collaborate with INIT’s international software engineering teams, working closely with the head of Department of Backoffice Ticketing and other software groups required to deliver INIT solutions and report to both the Head of Department in Germany (projects / technical) and the General Manager in Ireland (organisational)
  • Drive efficiency & innovation in products and processes and lead resource planning and recruitment
  • Create and communicate transparent development schedules and delivery dates in support of INIT projects
  • Focus on the standardization of INIT's software development processes and products
  • Support and guide team members through any issues that may arise, including technical and non-technical issues and manage the career development of all members of the team

Your qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in software Engineering or a similar technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in developing software and / or managing software projects
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages, with web-services and distributed systems
  • Experience with JIRA, Slack and other software management tools
  • Strong testing skills, focusing on quality
  • Knowledge of relational Databases
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, and flexible with the ability to improvise when challenges arise
  • Experienced leadership with persuasive mediation and negotiation skills
  • Very good communication skills and sense of responsibility
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, additional language skills are a plus
  • Willingness to travel to clients internationally and to INIT’s campus in Germany
