UK Bus Awards 2019

Nottingham's NCT proudly present their award as 'Bus Operator of the Year'

INIT customers win awards

Excellence in Public Transport deserves praise. This is why Bus Industry Awards Limited presents the annual UK Bus Awards for transit organisations and their individuals who excel in the area of Public Transport. INIT’s long-standing friends and customers National Express West Midlands (NXWM) and Nottingham City Transport (NCT) were both celebrated at the prestigious event.

NCT, based in INIT UK’s hometown in Nottingham, took the awards ceremony by storm, deservedly winning five awards. Nottingham can be especially proud of the award ‘Bus Operator of the Year’. This is a prize NCT obtained for a stunning fifth time.

In addition, Managing Director Mark Fowles was given the award for ‘Services to the Bus Industry’. Furthermore, awards were presented to NCT for ‘Unsung Hero’ as well as the ‘Top National Bus Driver’ – the second time in a row that one of their drivers has received the UK-wide accolade. NCT also won gold for ‘Top City Operator’, a prize sponsored by INIT. NCT is a municipal company and alongside their achievements at the awards, they are also celebrating rising passenger numbers and profit increases too.

Another of INIT’s customers, National Express West Midlands (NXWM), also achieved perfection receiving Gold. The Birmingham-based company was given the ‘Cultural Change Award’ in recognition of their ‘Master Driver’ Programme. This particular programme pays tribute to driver excellence and customer service. NXWM are also lauding the recent news that 64% of all their journeys are made on digital tickets, just a year after their ticketing system was introduced.

We heartily congratulate NXWM and NCT!
