Shaping the Future of Mobility – Together

Interview with Iwan

What’s your name and what do you do at INIT?

My name is Iwan Wiens and I’m the department manager for INIT’s background systems.

"Shaping the future of mobility": What does this mean to you and how do you contribute to it?

Providing easy mobility for everyone, so they can invest as little thought and energy as possible in getting from A to B. People need to be able to live just as they do in the office or at home, whether they are on the phone or working, for example. From the moment passengers board the vehicle until they step off it they shouldn’t have to worry about how to get from A to B, and just focus on other things.

With our in-depth knowledge of public transport and data analysis, we ensure public transport is always improving, in terms of quality, transparency, simplicity and reliability – in order to offer punctual services and to keep passengers informed at all times.

#INITtogether: What does this mean to you?

Everyone has their own idea of what they want to achieve in their work. In the field of public transport, it is about bringing together and adapting many different ideas in order to offer our customers a tailored solution. That’s what #INITtogether means to me on a professional level. But here at INIT, we are also one big family. The people are just as important; it is not simply about the technology and the work. With so many activities, such as our summer family party or after-work events, we also ensure that the interpersonal aspects are not neglected.

And how would you put it into one sentence?

Together, we are a professional family.

We want to help transit agencies use our data analytics to gain accurate insights and to make the right decisions.
