PROXmobile3

Flexible, fast and compact passenger terminal

A convenient ticketing system is a critical factor for an attractive public transport service. The trend is towards electronic fare management and passenger self-service terminals. INIT’s new passenger terminal PROXmobile3, like its predecessors, supports many forms of e-ticketing. The device has become smaller overall, helping to keep the widest possible passageway available in the vehicles.

Features

  • Contactless payment
  • Automatic fare calculation
  • Check-in / Check-out
  • Controlled boarding
  • EMV, NFC
  • Prepaid systems
  • Account based systems
  • Mobile or stationary use
  • Simple to install

The 4X inch (12.06 cm) display, with a 16:9 format, has also been improved. It provides optimum legibility thanks to better resolution, reading angles and luminosity.

The terminal offers passengers convenient and intuitive processing for all functions: choosing the right ticket, booking travel entitlement on smartcards, validating barcodes, or buying tickets in an open payment process. The software also supports a variety of standards, including combinations within a single system. VDV-KA, ITSO, Calypso and controlled boarding can all be supported, as well credit card based applications using the EMV standard. Improved transaction times make it more attractive.

The intelligent terminal can be operated as a stand-alone device and therefore has WLAN and GPRS/UMTS available. It is available in two versions: for mobile use in a vehicle and for stationary use at stops and on platforms.

The first major project where the new passenger terminal is to be installed, is in Portland, Oregon. There, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) has awarded INIT with the implementation of a new e-fare system where more than 1,100 on-board and platform validators go into action.
