A great deal of interest in novelties

Trade fair review of IT-TRANS 2016 in Karlsruhe

At the beginning of March, the fifth IT-TRANS exhibition was held in Karlsruhe and ended with record success. Around 5,000 trade visitors from over 60 nations learned, amongst other things, about integrated fare management systems, ticket services, commercial services, smart cards, IT-, project-, traffic-, fleet- and vehicle management, passenger safety and multimedia entertainment in public transportation.

Over three days, numerous public transportation professionals visited INIT’s booth at the IT-TRANS to learn more about the latest developments and innovations. Particularly in demand was the newest version of the multifunctional back-office system MOBILEvario. MOBILEvario supports card based and ID-/account-based ticketing systems and is also designed for accepting Open Payments. All current versions of e-ticketing, including open payment, are supported as well by the PC-based onboard computer with built-in ticket printer, EVENDpc2 which was also introduced in Karlsruhe.

Besides the larger display, the successor of the INIT bestseller, EVENDpc, has a faster processor and includes many other features generating a great deal of interest amongst visitors. Due to its many possible uses and the compact design, PROXmobile3, the next generation of the electronic validator met with a consistently positive response. Furthermore, the Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK) shuttle buses which carried attendees to and from the IT-TRANS were equipped with INIT’s multimedia displays. Using these buses, visitors gained interesting insights into the current possibilities of passenger TV and passenger information on board buses and trains.
