INIT's Christmas donation 2016

At INIT, the Christmas donations belong to the Advent season just like candle light and home-made cookies – a beloved tradition coming with the most beautiful time of the year. Deciding on an organisation is not easy. INIT operates globally and is rooted in Karlsruhe, Germany. That’s why, we want to support people in the poorest regions of the world and in our hometown alike.

This year, INIT decided for two charity organisations to share the Christmas donation of €16,000. The first one is “Diakonisches Werk Karlsruhe”, the social welfare organisation of Germany’s Protestant churches. They are going to use the donation to finance its inclusive holiday activities for children. The second one is “Engineers Without Borders – KIT e.V.” (EWB). They enable students of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) to apply the know-how they have acquired during their studies for the benefit of people of the Third World. To be precise, INIT has supported the EWB project Gramodaya in India already since 2015.

The INIT subsidiary in UK chose “The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association” to receive its Christmas donation. £2,500 are going to contribute to the associations purpose of – with the help of guide dogs – providing mobility to blind and partially sighted people.
