INIT innovation prize

In September 2017, CyberForum once again celebrated the annual presentation of the CyberChampions Awards, which honors prospective founders and businesses in the field of digital economy. This year, the number of applications was as high as never before – what made it even more difficult for the jury consisting of representatives from economics, science and politics to come to a decision.

Once again, the INIT innovation prize was the highlight of the CyberChampions Awards. It comes with prize money of EUR 5,000 and focusses on start-ups and companies with especially innovative ideas and products. In 2017, the prize went to the founders of memetis. The company developed miniature components and serves the markets of bioanalysis, medical technology and laboratory automation, where components need to be smaller and smaller.

Already since 2004, the CyberChampions Awards honor innovative entrepreneurs from the TechnologyRegion Karlsruhe. There are two categories, „best start-up“, „best corporate“, and the INIT innovation prize as special award. In 2017, the award winners received EUR 17,000 in total.
