Talent in Mobility Award goes to Dirk Weißer The Best Manager 2018 is one of INIT’s own

Paris / Karlsruhe, 14th June 2018

The European Talent in Mobility award in the Best Manager category has been presented this year to Dirk Weißer, Head of Research at INIT – the world’s leading supplier of integrated planning, scheduling, telematics and ticketing solutions for buses and rail transport. The award ceremony took place on 14 June as part of the Transports Publics trade show in Paris. It recognises the accomplishments of people who have made a particular contribution to the advancement of public transport and sustainable mobility.

“Our chairman Gottfried Greschner received a lifetime achievement award back in 2014, making Dirk Weißer the second individual from INIT to receive the Talent in Mobility award,” remarks a visibly delighted Jürgen Greschner, CSO of INIT. “We regard this as confirmation of INIT’s impressive capacity for innovation.” Dirk Weißer and his work have indeed had significant influence on the public transport industry. Numerous research projects have been brought to fruition either with his assistance or under his leadership. These have explored cutting-edge issues such as electromobility, travel assistance for people with special mobility needs, or the automatic detection of safety incidents, just to name a few.

“The presentation of the award fills me with great joy and gratitude,” explains Dirk Weißer. “I am delighted that my talents are so appreciated and am grateful that, together with my team, I have the opportunity to apply new and creative solutions to make the transition to public and shared modes of transport more attractive to the general public. INIT provides the perfect environment for me to do this.”
