Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus (Bus Átha Cliath), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the state-owned Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ) Group, operates a Public Service Obligation network in the greater Dublin Area and provides an extensive range of bus services.

Since 2010 INIT has supplied Dublin Bus with an integrated Intermodal Transport System (ITS) solution to optimise its operations, especially the regulation of bus services across the entire city.

In addition, a Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) system was implemented to offer residents and visitors of Dublin reliable real-time arrival and departure information at bus stops and through journey planning apps.

Customer statement

Dublin Bus has been a partner of INIT for over a decade now. We spoke with Shane Mitchell about the ongoing cooperation between our two organisations and the joint development of our ITCS. Thanks to the MOBILE-ITCS operations control system, their bus punctuality has increased from a mid to upper 80 percent range to an outstanding 97%. Dublin Bus has plans to include the implementation of our electric bus control functions in the ITCS.
