INIT wins EntrepreneurSTARS award for innovation

Karlsruhe, December 2018  

In 2018, INIT has already received multiple awards – the most recent one is the EntrepreneurSTARS award. Within the festive year-end celebration of the BVMW (the German association for small and medium-sized businesses), five enterprises out of the BVMW network were awarded in five categories: innovation, employer attractiveness, digitalization, foreign trade and management. INIT stood up to two other nominees and won 1st place in the category innovation.  

For more than 35 years, INIT has dedicated itself to innovative solutions for public transport companies and gained advanced knowledge and experience not least because of different research projects, such as MENDEL in the field of e-mobility. Therefore, INIT is able to assist public transport companies with an integrated solution for the challenging introduction of e-buses.  

INIT also revolutionizes the area of ticketing and was the first in the world to integrate a virtual transit fare card through Google Pay. INIT’s open payment system allows passengers to use their preferred way of purchasing a ticket, that being: via smartcard, virtual card, contactless bank card or mobile wallet.  

The EntrepreneurSTARS award is another proof for INIT’s innovation power and its successful ambitions to modernize public transport and meet the increasing passenger needs.
