INIT, originally founded in Karlsruhe, Germany, now operates in over 40 global locations, including a significant presence in Australia and New Zealand. INIT Australia was established 19 years ago with an office in Brisbane, and we have recently expanded with a new office in Sydney's Central Business District, 44 Market Street. This expansion supports our commitment to enhancing public transport systems with advanced solutions, including our new electromobility offerings, across the region.

Portfolio

INIT's extensive product portfolio is designed to address the full spectrum of operational needs for public transport providers. In Australia, where the demand for innovative and efficient transport solutions is ever-growing, key areas of our offerings have proven to be particularly crucial for bus and coach operators, as well as state and local government agencies:

Zero Emission Buses

A major focus of INIT’s electromobility portfolio is to run the new wave of e-busses in Australia as cost-effectively as possible. Key features include charge management, range prediction and monitoring. You will find indispensable information on the proper electrification of a bus fleet on our special page on the implementation of electric buses and what there is to consider. Just click here:

Our systems can range from checking whether the remaining battery charge is enough to finish a route to making strategic decisions for your fleet's electrification. Our solutions can step in to ensure all buses are loaded highly efficiently without tapping into expensive high-peak periods.

Mobility Expert

INIT’s presence in Europe and North America has helped both areas get ahead in establishing zero-emissions bus networks with public transport authorities and operators. INIT is looking forward to opening up the same benefits for Australian operators who want to electrify their fleets and letting them profit from our lessons learned.

Fleet management

It is essential to track, monitor and dispatch one‘s fleet in real time, know about possible delays and provide passengers with up-to-date information on arrivals and departures. LIVEavl is an easy to understand, modular, cloud-based fleet management solution that gives supervisors and dispatchers a thorough overview of their en route vehicles (buses, trams, subways, etc.). The solution includes tools for driver communication and reporting. Passengers receive all important information on their journey via app, website or passenger information displays in vehicles or at stops/stations. As a web-based Software-as-a-Service solution, LIVEavl requires no upfront investments. Of course, the solution allows you to monitor the current State of Charge of your e-buses en route. So you can always be sure the battery is fully operational and the buses will finish their blocks or you can initiate dispatch measures in time.

Ticketing

INITs account-based ticketing systems is the market leading solution in North America and also successfully deployed in European cities. Customers benefit from a multi-media strategy allowing them to purchase tickets with transport cards, credit cards and smartphones. All allowing for best-price fare capping. Of course, cash is featured as well, e.g. via TVMs.

The latest mobile ticketing model has attracted interest due to it being both app and cloud-based and requiring no hardware. It’s perfect for mid-sized operators wanting to connect with passengers through a modern app-based ticketing system that can also include bespoke advertising and designs.
