The International User Group Meeting was held online for the second time. On October 6 and 7, 170 participants from all over the world were informed online about important innovations and possible system expansions from INIT. The event was livestreamed in both German on Wednesday and in English on Thursday from the Karlsruhe headquarters and provided participants essential information on the meeting‘s main topic „Systems move forward“.

Upcoming questions were answered by the speakers in the course of the livestream. The opportunity for more in-depth discussions and a detailed exchange followed two weeks later. INIT customers were able to engage in a virtual exchange with experts from other companies and from INIT via video conference.

Developing systems further

Under the motto "Systems move forward", participants addressed how transport companies can master the challenges of the coming years with the help of up-to-date technologies. After all, the increasing demands on cybersecurity and the IT infrastructure, technological progress and new requirements, which are also imposed on transport companies from third-party stakeholders, constantly require telematics or ticketing systems to be expanded or renewed.

Managing Director, Klaus Janke, explained that INIT is the ideal technology partner to meet these challenges. All new product generations, from the MOBILE-ITCS nextGen system to onboard equipment like the EVENDpc3 and COPILOTpc3, meet the latest requirements in security, flexibility and functionality. As an ISO 27001 certified company, INIT offers guaranteed data and information security at the highest level to its customers.

Andreas Kleint of Hallesche Verkehrs AG (HAVAG) confirmed that outdated systems are becoming a safety risk. In his presentation, he explained how HAVAG manages to keep its finger on the pulse of the times and continuously develop their telematics system without sacrificing cost-effectiveness, tried-and-tested functions and the reliability of a "running system".

The conference topics included the migration of vehicle hardware, new possibilities in ticketing and electromobility, as well as functional enhancements in the area of operations control and passenger information. Numerous customers shared their insights and experiences with these topics.

In his introductory lecture, CSO Dr. Jürgen Greschner reported on the development of INIT © INIT

Well informed online

The success of this event affirms our digital information campaign. Since face-to-face meetings were only feasible to a limited extent and hardly any trade fairs and seminars were held in presence, INIT massively increased the number of online events during the last year and a half. In addition to the User Group Meeting, seminars on electromobility and the Working Group ITCS were also converted to digital formats.

A wide range of webinars taking place throughout the year offers our customers access to targeted information on specific topics. Because our online events have resulted in consistently high attendance and positive feedback from participants, we will continue to provide information in this way even after the pandemic.  However, we very much look forward to meeting our customers in person again soon - at trade fairs, seminars and at a face-to-face user group meeting.
